Perth Lunar bullion for 2020 features the industrious field mice to celebrate the “Year of the Mouse.” The Mouse or Rat is the first of 12 animals associated with the ancient Chinese lunar calendar.
The birth dates for people ruled by the Chinese Lunar Mouse include 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008 and 2020. Those born under the influence of this sign are said to be smart, resourceful, kind while possessing a rich imagination and strong intuition.
No mintage limit applies to the 1 kilo, 10oz, 5oz, 2oz and 1/2oz coins. Except for the 1 kilo release, production of these coins will close at the end of 2020 when The Perth Mint will declare each coin’s official mintage.
The Perth Mint will produce up to 300,000 1oz coins. Production will cease when the mintage is fully sold or at the end of the series, whichever comes first. Due to the low mintage of the 1oz size it is highly collectable and is sure to sell out fast.
Meticulously struck from 99.99% pure silver in bullion quality, the coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
